We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that, as members of the Pan Dorset Carer Steering Group, Carer Support Dorset has contributed to the hard work that led to the creation of the ‘Our Dorset Carers Vision’!
This is a strategic document, proudly backed by the Dorset Integrated Care System, that sets out a clear roadmap for fostering a culture where all carers feel listened to, valued, and recognised as essential contributors to our health and care system. Our aim is for every unpaid carer in Dorset to enjoy good physical and mental health while feeling fully supported in their vital roles of carers. Created alongside carers, for carers, this document will be revisited regularly to ensure we’re making progress. While we know there’s more to do, we’re dedicated to making Dorset a place where carers of all ages feel appreciated and receive the support they deserve. Click here to download the Vision.
And the great news continues as you can join The Pan Dorset Carers Steering Group for yourself! We are a fantastic collaborative team made up of carers, local authorities, and health partners, all dedicated to enhancing support for carers in Dorset. We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic carers aged 16+ who want to share their unique experiences and represent the collective voice of all carers. If you join our steering group, you’ll participate in online meetings every six weeks and have the chance to dive deeper into specific areas of carer support. If this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, we’d love to hear from you! The deadline for expressing your interest is 9 December 2024.
