At Carer Support Dorset, we know how important it is to take care of yourself when you’re supporting loved ones. That’s why we’re thrilled to invite unpaid carers to join Forest Bathing Dorset for their Grounding and Relaxation Walks. These walks provide a wonderful opportunity to slow down, let go of daily stresses, and reconnect with nature in a peaceful and therapeutic setting.

During the walk, you’ll be invited to leave distractions behind and immerse yourself in nature. Take a slow, mindful pace, paying attention to the sights, sounds, and scents around you. From the rustling leaves to the earthy fragrance of the forest floor, each moment will encourage you to let go of any tension you have.

As you move through the natural landscape, you’ll be guided to breathe deeply, take time to sit or lie down in a peaceful spot, close your eyes, and listen to the calming sounds of nature as you connect with your surroundings.

Why Nature is So Good for You

Spending time in nature isn’t just enjoyable – it’s beneficial! These walks can help reduce stress, improve your mood, and even spark creativity. Nature has a unique ability to nurture both your body and mind, leaving you feeling refreshed and renewed.

What to Bring

Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear, and remember to bring a water bottle, natural insect repellent, and a mat or blanket. Please also avoid any strong scents, as the aim is to fully embrace the natural environment.

A Rejuvenating Experience

Led by Claire Fender, an experienced Forest Bathing Practitioner, and Sarah Eaby, an Accredited Counsellor, the Grounding and Relaxation Walks offer more than just a stroll in the woods – they are a chance to reflect, relax, and renew. These walks offer the perfect opportunity for carers to take a step back, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature, all while benefiting from expert guidance and support.

The next walks are on April 26th – one near Sherborne (10:00 – 12:30) and one near Bridport (15:00 – 17:30). A donation of £20+ is appreciated (including light refreshments), and spaces are limited, so be sure to book your spot soon.
