Carer’s Week takes place between 5-11 June and is a week when charities, organisations and communities come together to show support for the millions of unpaid carers in the UK.
We are using the week to reach out to carers who perhaps don’t realise they have a caring role and will be attending several events during the week to promote our services.
We’d also like to extend an invitation to all carers to attend one of our special events where you can drop in and enjoy tea/coffee and some cake with people who ‘get’ what it’s like to care for someone.
Places are limited at all of the following events so booking is essential. Use the Eventbrite links below to book your place.
Carer cream tea
Tuesday 6 June, 2.00-4.00pm, Woodhouse Gardens, Blandford
We have 30 places for carers to come together and enjoy a cream tea, our treat.
Parent carer / young carer family event
Thursday 8 June, 4.00-6.00pm, Weymouth Library
Join this event especially for parent carers and young carers and their families. There will be a special craft activity for young people who attend plus more.
We will also be attending other events taking place during Carers Week so do pop by and say hello.
We’ll be at Help & Care’s dementia awareness event at Bridport Town Hall on 5 June. View more information here.
We’ll also be at a carer roadshow at Dorchester Museum on 7 June, organised by Mid-Dorset Primary Care Network and which will be attended by a variety of organisations. See information below and find full information here.
Several organisations that help to support carers are getting together to provide a programme of activities and events for carers during Carers Week. You can see the full programme here.
There is a printable calendar of all events or Dorset and BCP during Carers Week. View the printable calendar here.
